Job Description

Summary/Objective: Responsible for executing the daily assignments for the Packaging lines and will direct the work of all Packaging line employees, ensuring assigned task are completed safely, efficiently and to the quality standards set by Valentine Enterprises Inc. and its clients.

Essential Functions

•    Responsible for executing the production schedule as directed and meeting or exceeding rates and yields.
•    Proactively assist in resolving issues with QC, Maintenance, Warehouse and Blending departments.
•    Oversee day to day packaging operations by assigning work orders and work assignments to line operators and material handlers.
•    Ensure team is appropriately dressed before start of work day and verify team compliance of all GMP and PPE requirements.
•    Ensure team members have all required tools to perform their jobs.
•    Retrieve room schedule from supervisor and ensure appropriate staffing.
•    Communicate regularly with Production Manager to ensure all of the company’s needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
•    Work to identify more efficient ways to perform daily work assignments.
•    Responsible for ensuring the correct materials are used on the line according to the specific job order.
•    Responsible for meeting all quality requirements and perform testing as required
•    Responsible for completing all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
•    Responsible for training line operators and material handlers
•    Manage employee’s time and ensure compliance with event timeframes (breaks, lunch, wash and sanitation). Report violations to supervisor.
•    Ensure compliance with all VEI safety, housekeeping, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
•    Responsible for KPI’s (Right First Time and Units/Labor Hour)
•    Comply with all safety and SOP procedures
•    Able to work overtime including weekends
•    Responsible for 5S
•    Able to use Deacom (ERP)
•    Removal of trash for designated area
•    Restock needed materials
•    Assist where needed on the line
•    Comply with all safety and SOP procedures

Work Environment
This job operates in manufacturing environment and will work around machinery and moving parts, use standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Comprehension and expression of a level to record fairly uncomplicated information frequently such as filling in forms, logging entries and taking telephone messages in English.

Physical Demands

Employee will occasionally lift up to 49 pounds, pull hand over hand, sit for extended periods of time, climb using arms and legs, and operate a motor driven vehicle.  Employee will frequently, push, reach over shoulder, stand, repeatedly bend, use peripheral vision and depth perception, able to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors and use routine hearing abilities.  Employee will continuously, use fingers for grasping, use both hands, walk, use well developed coordination simultaneously and read with attention to detail, seeing things near and far.

Employee is occasionally exposed to the outside environment, excessive cold, solvents, grease and oils, pesticides, electrical energy, slippery or uneven walk, working on ladders or scaffolding, combustibles, and working with hands in water. Employee will frequently work in excess humidity, work with sharp instruments, cleaning supplies, and work alone.  Employee will continuously work in an inside environment, in excessive heat, and noise, dust, work around machinery and parts, work irregular work hours, around vibrations and work closely with others

Required Education, Skills and Experienc

e


•    High School diploma or equivalent


•    Self-starter who can work in a fast paced environment


•    Possess supervisory skills; able to communicate at all levels of the organization.


•    Experience in automated production process in a cGMP environment.


•    Knowledgeable in OSHA and CGMP regulations.


•    Basic mechanical aptitude to assess needed repairs and maintenance on equipment.


•    Ability to carry out work assignments.


•    Works well in a team environment


•    Follows instructions precisely to ensure a quality product


•    Previous experience supervising on a packaging line


•    Associates degree preferred


Certification preferred


•    Forklift Certified
