Job Description

VVL Systems is a delivering leading edge consulting and subject matter expertise to various customers who are planning, currently, or course-correcting their journey to the Cloud.  As part of our service, we are looking for the expertise to help our customers through the journey in deriving value out of Amazon Web Services.

Must have the following experience:

  • Operational fluency in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Direct experience with Amazon Web Services products and offerings, both Commercially and Government Cloud (below are only a sample list):
    • Compute (EC2, Auto Scaling, Elastic BeanStalk, Lambda, Elastic Load Balancing)
    • Database (Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB)
    • Management and Governance (CloudWatch, Cloud Formation)
    • AWS Cost Management
    • BlockChain
    • Analytics (Athena, CloudSearch, Elasticsearch, Kinesis, Reshift)
    • Developer Tools
    • Networking and Content Delivery (VPC, CloudFront, Route 53)
  • Ability to easily adapt and support highly specialized applications and operational environment.
  • Provide high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation.
  • Advise on exceptionally complex problems that necessitate a high-level knowledge of cloud hetergenous products for effective implementation. 
  • Participate, as needed, in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, integration, documentation and presentation phases.

This position will be performed remotely with occasional travel to customer sites, as customer needs arise.

Qualifications

Proven experience in the following areas is desired:

  • Experience with configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of AWS products and services tailored to customer's needs.
  • Senior Engineer-level skills in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP issues.
  • BASH and/or PowerShell scripting.
  • SQL and/or noSQL database experience.
  • Load balancer experience.
  • Experience using and integrating Single Sign-On (SSO) systems.
  • Expertise managing projects and teams through completion.
  • Python and SQL development experience.

The following AWS-specific certification are REQUIRED:

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner - Foundation
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate

The following AWS-specific certifications are a PLUS (candidates with the following certifications will be given higher priority):

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional
  • AWS Certified Security/Big Data/Advanced Networking - Specialty

 

Other industry-relevant certifications and/or direct field experience will be given consideration in lieu of certifications.
