Job Description

VVL Systems and Consulting is looking to hire a Sr. DevSecOps resource to become our Lead Consultant for our Sonatype Nexus Disconnected Environment initiative for the DoD Intelligence Community.  Your role will be to help lead our customers in successfully implementing, managing, supporting, enhancing, and securing the DevOps pipeline for our customers in the DoD Intelligence community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead an assessment of a large enterprise’s DevOps processes, documenting existing processes and giving a roadmap to maturity.
  • Work closely with clients, partners, other consultants and project managers to deliver scalable, re-usable, and well-documented solutions based on Sonatype Nexus Lifecycle (IQ) and Repository Manager.
  • Performing daily/weekly maintenance updates to Sonatype Nexus Disconnected Environment (NDE).
  • Implementing new capabilities for the IC community to further the use and derived value of Sonatype.
  • Supporting the Developer's Service Center (DSC) workload in support of developer's query, questions, and issues related to the use of the Sonatype NDE solution.
  • Providing architecture and thought-leadership in the DevOps pipeline in support of our Nation's mission in securing application development and use of DevSecOps best practices.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and 5 years of experience OR 8 years of DevOps experience
  • Amazon Web Services direct experience in configuring, managing, and designing EC2/VPC/RDS/EBS and other equivalent services.
  • DoD 8750 Certification/compliance
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening
  • Current TS/SCI clearance a MUST
  • Onsite work required, no remote work allowed. Client location:  Chantilly, VA.

 

Required Skills

  • Experience with DevOps solutions (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Eclipse IDE).
  • Server Operating Systems Experience (Red Hat Linux 6/7 required).
  • Experience with developing or managing development on Development Platform (Java, J2EE, Eclipse IDE, Maven, etc)
  • Experience with Project Management Methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Spin)
  • Experience with scripting and/or development languages (Java, C++, VB, Shell, Perl, Python, Jython, etc)
  • Experience with emerging technologies desired (Docker, Microservices, etc).
  • One ore more Vendor Certification: MCSE / MDSD / VCP / CCE / RHCE
  • Amazon C2S experience a plus
  • Customer service experience / strong customer focus
  • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who is excited about learning new technologies

 

Hands on experience with:

  • Heterogeneous enterprises
  • Red Hat Linux version 7 and systemd.
  • Working with Database and Multi-Tier Applications
  • Cloud/Virtualization Experience (Amazon Web Services)
  • Software development pipeline tools (Jenkins, Maven, Eclipse IDE, gradle, etc).
  • Classified environments.
