Job Description
Experienced Network Administrator/Engineer for our Agency. The candidate will be responsible for support of our LAN/WAN environment.
The Network Engineer is involved in the design and maintenance of both the hardware and software necessary for a computer network.
The Network Engineer is a high-level technical analyst, specializing in Local Area Networks (LANs)/Wide Area Networks (WANs), TCP/IP, and server/network infrastructure.
This position will act as an escalation point for anything related to LAN/WAN Support. The candidate will administer all network equipment under the guidance of the IT Director.
Qualifications
- Network Engineering WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, Infrastructure
- 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
- Performance tuning, capacity planning, database admin, fault management
- Managing Server Security
- Disaster recovery/back up procedures and archiving procedures
- Experience deploying and managing CISCO network equipment access and core layers within a distributed environment.
- Experience installing, configuring, and managing a network management solution. SolarWinds experience preferred
- Network routing and high availability protocols
- Converged networks (voice, video and data)
- Excellent problem solving skills, self-management skills, and written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems or produce complex solutions, and ability to communicate and influence management and technical staff
- Strong project management skills preferred.
- Experience with Wide Area Network topologies preferred.
- Routing, switching and wireless technologies, and network security techniques
