Job Title: Teradata Developer
Location: Des Moines, IA
Duration: 12 months (Possibilities of extensions)
Job Description:
· Client is looking for a developer to support lead generation loads for the Audit Component Case Management application.
· This position will be joining our database support team and require a data warehouse skill set, utilizing stored procedures, SQL and Teradata Utilities.
· The candidate will work with Teradata DBAs and other business staff to identify required data elements for use in targeted systems.
Responsibilities
- Utilize business requirements to perform impact analysis and convert to detailed designs
- Code, test and deploy stored procedures to load data to the warehouse and various marts
- Apply user access/roles as specified by business requirements
- Assist with use cases, test cases and system documentation for assigned projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve SQL errors and performance problems
- Follow best practices for Teradata deployments
- Write queries to facilitate management analysts needs for testing and research
- Communicate accurate and useful status updates
- Manage and report time spent on all work activities
Required Skills:
- Data Warehousing concepts and project experience
- Strong analytical/mathematical and reasoning skills
- Expertise in SQL programming (views/store procedures/macros/functions), based on business requirements and architectural guidelines and standards
- Strong Teradata SQL expertise is a must (familiarity with SQL Assistant)
- Knowledge of Teradata Stored Procedure/Macro
- Teradata load utilities: BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, OleLoad
- Developing packages with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Working knowledge of Entity Relationship Models
- Proficiency with Teradata concepts and logical/physical database design
- Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
