We're looking for a talented, self-directed, and mission-aligned Software Lead/Manager of Engineering with significant software development experience to join our team. We’re seeking a self-starter who is excited to work with a dynamic group of individuals who respect one another, values empathetic leadership, leads by example, work collaboratively, and is wildly passionate about our shared goals to improve the cost and quality of healthcare.

As an effective experienced tech professional you will be detail-oriented, have a broad technical understanding, and be a team performer. You have a diverse background in architecture, distributed systems, and software development. To be successful, you must have extensive experience building commercial-quality software, be able to solve complex problems quickly, and thrive in a highly collaborative environment. You will have > 5 years of experience successfully architecting, developing, and deploying applications in a regulated (HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) or PCI) cloud environment.

What You'll Be Doing 

• Be instrumental in the architecture, engineering, development, and quality assurance of data-producing/consuming software, working closely with a small, distributed, dynamic, Engineering Team.
• Produce high-quality software that is well-designed, maintainable, unit tested, code reviewed and checked regularly for continuous integration.
• Manage and improve the software development process. Be hands-on. Code
• Assist in ensuring systems remain HIPAA and SOC2 compliant
• Support distributed web applications in a complex, and evolving environment.
• Work throughout the application and infrastructure project: including design, architecture, communication, monitoring, availability, scaling, failover and recovery
• Manage the development lifecycle using Jira

What You’ll Bring 

• Strong understanding of building software in regulated environments & security standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST
• Experience managing distributed development including remote and off-shore resources, including Agile development (JIRA experience a plus)
• 5+ years’ hands on experience with Python (PHP is a +)
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
• Experience working with restful APIs, micro-services, & Atlassian toolset
• An active Problem Solver and a “figure it out” mind set.
• A clear, effective, and proactive communicator: Both with engineers and other stakeholders.
• Extreme attention to detail
• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
