VEMA is recruiting applicants to join our highly competitive medical scribe program. Currently, we serve the emergency rooms at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital (Fairfax, Virginia) and Fauquier Hospital (Warrenton, Virginia).

The role of the scribe:

• Record patient histories in an EMR (electronic medical record) 
• Transcribe details of the physical exam and orders in the EMR
• Document procedures performed by the physician
• Continuously monitor laboratory tests, imaging studies, patient progress, and other evaluations
• Record physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions

Deadline: We accept applications on a rolling basis. While there is no deadline to apply, we review applications as we receive them, so it is better to submit your application sooner rather than later. We contact applicants regarding their status based on their indicated start date. Do not be alarmed if you do not hear from us for several weeks.

We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals who are eager to work as medical scribes. Our scribes gain significant first-hand exposure to patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting.

This is a full-time paid position for individuals seeking admission to medical, PA, or nursing school. We also welcome EMTs seeking clinical experience. If you are able to commit one year to the program (32+ hours per week for full-time positions), we invite you to apply. Candidates for part-time employment (16 hours per week for a two year commitment) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applications for the 2020-2021 cycle are now available.
