We're seeking a highly commercial Contract Manager to join our Energy team. This is an amazing opportunity to join a team who are already delivering great things but looking to be even better! Here's the key attributes you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in Contract Management
- Experienced in supplier relationship management and a deep understanding of the drivers of the P&L,
- Ability to provide clear management across contracts, procurement, risk management, and negotiation.
- Experience of developing and mentoring a high-performing team
- Educated to degree level in Business or Law (or equivalent experience)
- Exceptional commercial acumen
- Ability to build enduring and mutually beneficial relationships with some of UW’s most strategic commercial partners.

The Energy team at UW is accountable for driving the optimisation of our energy P&L, ensuring our customers get the most from their energy provision. The team look to ensure existing customers have the best deals whilst future-proofing our energy supply and contracts. It's a team of absolute experts who thrive on cutting through the complexity to get to the heart of the commercial drivers of our success..
Responsibilities
- Provide a single strategic ownership for in-life contract management of Energy Industry contracts.
- Full ownership and negotiation of new contracts, variations, side letters and pricing.
- Formally managing all in-life risks associated with the contracts and report on these at least quarterly.
- Manage our ongoing MHHS migration with our exclusive provider, ensuring all contractual milestones are met.
- Provide cost reporting for each contract, ensuring they remain within forecasted spend.
- Manage cross departmental multi-disciplinary stakeholders to oversee, cost, quality of service, and continuous improvement through energy contracts.
- Work with Smart teams and Operations to ensure timely production of forecasts, challenges, and planning to share with suppliers.
- Ensuring all contract KPI’s / SLA’s are met and reported on monthly, providing remedial action plans for any underperformance.Create monthly reporting packs to document against performance, improvement areas and market intelligence.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as Ops, Finance and Product to ensure we are meeting our contractual obligations to our suppliers
- Data management; ensuring all data is up to date and accurate, keeping it in presentable format so it is easily accessible to key stakeholders.
- Drive change in policies inline with the business requirements.
- Provide insight of industry innovation and insights which directly impact existing contracts and current ways of working
