Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity Tutor 

Location: Fully Remote - Anywhere in NZ
Full-time | Permanent | Yoobee Online Campus

Yoobee Colleges is seeking an experienced Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity Tutor to support the delivery of our Certificate in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity Operations (Level 6).

The successful candidate will have applied cybersecurity experience across ethical hacking, network defence, web application security fundamentals, and security operations/incident awareness.

This role involves supporting learners through online delivery, EC-Council-aligned learning resources, virtual labs, simulations, technical reporting, and scenario-based cybersecurity activities.

The tutor will help learners apply responsible and authorised security testing practices, identify vulnerabilities, recommend mitigations, understand defensive controls, and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You’re a hands-on cybersecurity professional who enjoys sharing your knowledge and helping others build practical, job-ready skills. You bring real-world experience across areas such as ethical hacking, network defence, web application security, and security operations, and you’re confident guiding learners through labs, simulations, and practical cybersecurity scenarios.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have a relevant current EC-Council certification such as CEH, CND, CSA, ECIH, CHFI, EHE or NDE. This is a key requirement for the position.

You’ll also bring:

  • Practical industry experience in cybersecurity or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of authorised security testing, vulnerability assessment, defensive controls, incident response, and responsible reporting.
  • Experience with tools and platforms such as Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, AWS security tools, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
  • Experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, training, or facilitation, ideally within tertiary, adult, online, or workplace learning.
  • A recognised adult teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one within an agreed timeframe.
  • A commitment to ethical, inclusive, and culturally responsive teaching practice.
