Job Description

You will deliver a mixture of on campus/online classes that builds students' advanced Photoshop and photographic post-production skills. Through practical demonstrations, workshops and guided learning activities, you will teach image editing, retouching, colour management, digital printing and professional workflows, helping students develop the technical expertise and creative judgement needed to produce polished, industry-standard photographic work. Existing course materials and assessment resources will be provided to support delivery and content development. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver engaging face-to-face and online classes in advanced Adobe Photoshop, focusing on professional photographic post-production techniques and best-practice editing workflows.  
  • Guide students in image refinement, colour management, retouching, file preparation and digital printing to produce high-quality photographic outcomes.  
  • Facilitate practical learning through demonstrations, print evaluations and constructive feedback while supporting students to troubleshoot technical and workflow challenges.  
  • Develop and deliver online learning resources, adapting technical concepts into clear, accessible activities that promote student engagement and success.  
  • Assess student work consistently against curriculum standards, contribute to moderation processes and collaborate with program staff to support student progress and delivery requirements.  

Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Photography, Digital Imaging, Visual Arts or a closely related discipline, with advanced expertise in Adobe Photoshop and photographic post-production.  
  • Demonstrated industry experience in photography, digital imaging, fine-art printing or commercial post-production, including colour management, print workflows and print-ready file preparation.  
  • Previous teaching, training or workshop facilitation experience, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to learners with varying skill levels.  
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative, student-centred approach and confidence supporting both face-to-face and online learners.  
  • Desirable: Experience in higher education, online teaching, learning management systems (e.g. Moodle), digital learning resource development, professional inkjet printing, and Adobe Lightroom Classic, Bridge or Capture One. 

Additional Information

  • Sessional position at 6 hours weekly (Every Thursday – with some flexibility) ending 18 December. 
  • Mixture of on-campus/online delivery. 
  • Access to PSC’s facilities, including professional photographic studio.  
  • Work alongside a small, collaborative team of creative practitioners, with opportunities to share ideas, exchange skills and contribute to a lively teaching culture.
