Job Description

  • Permanent, Part Time (0.5FTE)

Acknowledge Education is seeking Child Safety, Quality & Risk Officer to support our child safety, compliance and risk management frameworks.

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Risk, this role will work closely with the Head of School to ensure compliance with Victorian Child Safe Standards, Ministerial Order 1359, VRQA requirements and other regulatory obligations, while promoting a culture that prioritises child-safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate compliance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Ministerial Order 1359.
  • Maintain and review child safety policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Support child safety governance, reporting and assurance activities.
  • Conduct child safety risk assessments and maintain risk registers.
  • Support management of safeguarding incidents, complaints and investigations.
  • Coordinate staff training and awareness programs.
  • Prepare compliance, risk and governance reports for senior leadership.
  • Support audits, reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

About You

You will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in child safety, safeguarding, compliance, risk management, governance, student wellbeing or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Child Safe Standards and Ministerial Order 1359.
  • Experience managing compliance frameworks, policies, audits and risk registers.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, report writing and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Hold/be willing to obtain an Employee Working With Children's Check (or equivalent).

Desirable

  • Experience within a Victorian school, VCE provider, TAFE or higher education environment.
  • Experience supporting VRQA audits or regulatory compliance activities.
  • Qualifications in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Law, Governance, Risk Management or a related discipline.
