About the role:
We’re looking for a practical, industry-experienced On Farm Educator to support and develop the next generation of learners working in the primary sector. This is not a traditional classroom-only role. You’ll be working directly with students in their real-world environment — on the farm — helping them build capability, confidence, and competency in their trade.
This is a blended delivery role, including:
- 1 day per week delivering training in a classroom setting
- On-farm visits to support learners in their workplace
- Delivering practical, hands-on skills training
- Assessing learners on the job against programme requirements
- Building strong relationships with students and employers
You’ll play a key role in keeping learners engaged, progressing, and successfully completing their training.
Qualifications
About you:
You’re someone who enjoys being out in the field, working alongside others, and sharing your knowledge to help people grow. You bring real-world farming experience and take a practical, hands-on approach to developing others. You’re just as comfortable building relationships as you are holding learners accountable, and you take pride in seeing others succeed.
You will bring:
- A relevant qualification in agriculture or a related field (preferred)
- An adult education or training qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Experience in workplace assessment or relevant assessor unit standards (advantageous)
- Strong experience in the primary or land-based sector (farming experience essential)
- Confidence working one-on-one with learners in practical, on-farm environments
- The ability to coach, motivate, and support learners while holding them accountable
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with both learners and employers
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own schedule across multiple locations
A full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
