Team Leader
Location: Auckland CBD
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
About the role:
This is a dynamic operational and academic leadership role focused on driving campus success across attendance, engagement, and student outcomes. As a key member of the campus leadership team, reporting to the Campus Manager, you will play a critical role in fostering a positive, respectful, and high-performing learning environment where students are supported to achieve their best.
You will bring strong leadership capability and a passion for developing others, working closely with trainers to elevate teaching quality, capability, and performance. At the same time, you will help cultivate a collaborative and supportive team culture where staff feel empowered to thrive and deliver exceptional results.
In this role, you will:
- Drive strong academic outcomes for students
- Lead and manage tutors to achieve key performance indicators
- Support trainers in delivering engaging, high-quality teaching
- Oversee day-to-day academic operations to ensure smooth and effective delivery
- Champion and embed company values across the tutoring team
Qualifications
About You:
You are a confident and experienced people leader with a strong background in training or teaching within the Hair, Barbering, or Make Up industry. You are passionate about developing others and are motivated to influence how skills are taught, ensuring students are well-prepared for success in the industry.
You bring a collaborative and supportive leadership style, with the ability to inspire high performance and foster a positive team culture. You are comfortable working in a target-driven environment, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations, while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes for both staff and students.
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the Hairdressing, Barbering, or Make Up industry
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and managing staff in either a workplace or educational setting
- Knowledge of academic delivery and compliance requirements (highly desirable)
- An NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 4) or equivalent (preferred)
You will also demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and lead teams to achieve outstanding results.
