Job Description
International, Internship & Employment Lead
Location: Auckland CBD
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
About the role:
Please note this is a full-time role, working five days per week, and includes Saturday and Sunday.
The Industry, Internship and Employment Lead strengthens the learner experience by strategically building and nurturing employer and industry partnerships that create direct pathways to internships and graduate employment.
The role leads targeted industry engagement initiatives and high-impact events designed to connect learners with relevant networks, real-world opportunities, and career outcomes aligned to their chosen fields.
Through proactive stakeholder management, employability-focused programming, and learner-centred support, the role also positions Yoobee as the provider of choice, known for meaningful industry connection, strong graduate outcomes, and exceptional learner experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organising industry speakers and guest engagement for learners
- Organising and managing mix-and-mingle/ networking events
- Managing student recruitment and developing industry partnerships
- Administrative and reporting efficiency
- International learner engagement and support
Qualifications
About You:
You’re a proactive connector, passionate about helping international learners succeed. You have experience in industry engagement, employability, or internships, and can build strong relationships with employers and learners alike. Organised, confident, and learner-focused, you thrive delivering events, supporting students, and creating real pathways to employment.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in industry engagement, employability, internships, careers, or stakeholder partnerships, ideally within tertiary or international education.
- Professional backgrounds in Event Management or Business Development is beneficial
- Proven ability to build and maintain employer and industry relationships that lead to internships or employment outcomes.
- Experience delivering employability initiatives such as workshops, networking events, or employer engagement activities.
- Confidence providing learner-centered support, including one-to-one guidance and group facilitation.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work across learners, employers, and academic teams.
- Good organisational skills and experience using CRM systems, data tracking, or reporting.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience working with international students and awareness of work-rights or post-study pathways - not essential but highly advantageous.
- Understanding of TEC learner success and equity framework.
- Experience working in culturally diverse environments and supporting priority learner groups.
