About us:

Applications are invited for the role of Head of Hard FM within the Estates Department of the University of the West of England.

Based at our Frenchay campus but covering the entire university estate (predominantly the Bristol area), you will be responsible for all aspects of hard FM for all university properties.

As a member of the Estates senior management team, the successful applicant will lead and manage professional services, support strategic planning and in order to support the efficient managing of the university estate be responsible for operational delivery for all major and specialist contracts and operations.

This post will develop and manage systems of work for sourcing, specifying and scheduling planned and reactive maintenance across the University estate. The post holder manages capital projects linked to the Estates Capital Maintenance (ECM) Plan.

About you:

The skills and experience required for this post are; leadership and operational management of the Hard FM Services (HFMS) team, ability to deliver effective and efficient use of allocated resources, including staffing and R&M and ECM budgets, an effective communicator acting as the key liaison point for the HFMS team with other services and faculties, and a keen facilitator of collaborative working and developing the service.

Furthermore, lead and contribute to University wide projects, developing and promoting innovative thinking and being a strategic thinker to contribute to the development of University policies and procedures in line with service strategy and plans.

This is a permanent post, and is full-time working 37 hours per week. This post is not available on a jobshare basis.
