Job Description

Help shape the future of technology and digital innovation at Mendoza.

The Opportunity

At the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, our mission is to Grow the Good in Business—preparing leaders who contribute to human flourishing and use business as a force for good. Technology advances that mission by enhancing teaching and learning, supporting research, strengthening operations, and creating exceptional experiences for our students, faculty, staff, and broader community.

We are seeking a collaborative, strategic, and forward-thinking Director of Technology & Digital Strategy to serve as Mendoza’s senior technology leader. This opportunity is ideal for someone who connects technology strategy with organizational priorities, builds strong partnerships, and develops people.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the development and execution of Mendoza’s multi-year technology and digital strategy. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the Dean, College leadership, faculty, and administrative leaders, translating their ambitions and emerging needs into practical solutions with measurable impact.

You will also help shape Mendoza’s evolving technology operating model, bringing together the specialized expertise of our embedded technology team, enterprise services provided by Notre Dame’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), and external technology partners. Your leadership will guide Mendoza in deciding whether to build, buy, partner, or use enterprise capabilities to deliver innovative, reliable, and sustainable services.

What You’ll Do

Shape Mendoza’s Digital Future
Develop and champion a multi-year technology and digital strategy aligned with College and University priorities. Help leaders evaluate opportunities in artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, digital learning, and other emerging technologies, connecting innovation to meaningful academic and operational outcomes.

Build Partnerships That Drive Results
Serve as a trusted technology advisor across academic and administrative units. Listen closely to stakeholder needs, communicate complex ideas clearly, and translate organizational challenges into actionable strategies. Position Mendoza IT as a proactive partner in advancing the College’s mission.

Lead an Integrated Technology Ecosystem
Strengthen Mendoza’s partnership with OIT and external technology providers. Establish clear responsibilities, service expectations, and governance across shared services while developing the local capabilities that support Mendoza’s distinct needs.

Guide Technology Investments and Modernization
Oversee Mendoza’s portfolio of technology platforms, applications, and digital products. Establish roadmaps, prioritize investments based on strategic value, and evaluate opportunities to modernize legacy systems. Manage technology budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships with a focus on measurable value and long-term sustainability.

Champion Effective Processes and Lasting Change
Partner with academic and administrative teams to rethink business processes, simplify experiences, and improve how work gets done. Guide process redesign before implementing solutions and lead technology-enabled change with attention to adoption, accessibility, cybersecurity, data privacy, and University standards.

Develop People and Organizational Capabilities
Lead, mentor, and develop Mendoza’s embedded technology professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, curiosity, professional growth, and exceptional service. Shape team capabilities and responsibilities to meet the College’s evolving needs.

Who We’re Looking For

You combine strategic vision with practical execution and understand that successful technology transformation depends on people. You build trust across disciplines, navigate competing priorities thoughtfully, and bring the technical fluency and judgment to evaluate solutions and guide informed decisions.

You are curious about emerging technologies, grounded in the problems they can solve, and committed to helping your team and partners succeed.

Why Mendoza?

This role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact on the future of business education while helping define Mendoza’s technology strategy, partnerships, and team capabilities. You will collaborate with talented colleagues across the College and University in a community that values integrity, service, collaboration, and the development of people.

If you are energized by building relationships, developing others, and turning technology possibilities into meaningful outcomes, we invite you to apply.
