Job Description

Notre Dame Athletics develops and challenges each student-athlete to pursue excellence and serve as a force for good in the world. Our vision is to lead collegiate athletics by defining the integrated student-athlete experience and forming champions. To do this, we are eager to attract, recruit, develop and retain individuals who positively contribute to a collaborative, connected culture where all may thrive.

As a prospective member of Notre Dame Athletics, we invite you to apply if you have a shared purpose for our distinctly integrated student-athlete experience, an unrivaled passion for people who propel a dynamic and high performing organization, and a proven record of success in your field.

At the University of Notre Dame, excellence extends far beyond competition. As the Associate Director of Sports Nutrition, you'll play a vital role in helping student-athletes perform at their highest level by leading innovative nutrition strategies that support health, recovery, and peak performance.

In this dynamic leadership role, you'll partner with coaches, athletic trainers, sports medicine professionals, strength and conditioning staff, and performance specialists to deliver comprehensive nutrition services that empower student-athletes to succeed both on the field of play and in the classroom. You'll have the opportunity to influence the future of sports nutrition at Notre Dame by mentoring staff, enhancing departmental initiatives, and advancing evidence-based nutrition practices across our Olympic sport programs.

Whether you're developing individualized fueling plans, educating teams on performance nutrition, or helping shape the strategic direction of the department, your expertise will directly impact the success and well-being of Fighting Irish student-athletes.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and delivery of evidence-based sports nutrition services for assigned Olympic sport programs.
  • Design individualized nutrition plans that optimize performance, recovery, body composition, and overall health.
  • Provide engaging nutrition education through team presentations, workshops, and one-on-one counseling.
  • Collaborate with coaches and the interdisciplinary Health and Performance Leadership Team to provide integrated, holistic care for student-athletes.
  • Partner with the Director of Sports Nutrition to advance departmental initiatives, improve service delivery, and ensure consistent nutrition philosophies across all programs.
  • Mentor and support sports nutrition staff while fostering professional growth and maintaining best practices throughout the department.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives that elevate the impact of Sports Nutrition at Notre Dame.

Why Notre Dame?

This is more than a sports nutrition position - it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives and performance of elite Division I student-athletes. You'll join a collaborative, mission-driven Athletics team committed to developing the whole person through excellence in competition, education, and personal growth.

If you're passionate about high-performance nutrition, collaborative leadership, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential, we'd love to have you on our team.
