Job Description

The Collections Database Coordinator (CDC) is a key member of the Collections team responsible for providing technical advice and maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the Museum’s current collections database . Maintaining data standards and controlled vocabularies in the database, the CDC ensures the quality of data which is integral to Museum business and feeds public-facing collection resources like the Museum website, the museum and Hesburgh Library's digital collection platform MARBLE, as well as internal reports. The CDC maintains, implements, and updates policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. The CDC manages and undertakes the technical and procedural responsibilities that ensure the utilization of the database's functionality to advance collections information management, imaging, and collections-related tasks.The CDC assists in facilitating research by student(s), faculty, and outside researcher(s), through sharing available cataloging information as well as fulfilling image requests.The CDC will also play a critical role with the upcoming expansion of the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. This will include creating custom reports to assist with gallery installation and assist the Museum Registrar as needed with other related projects.

Qualifications

  • Education Qualifications: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s; Degree Qualifications: Museum studies, library science
  • Experience: 3 to 4 years
  • Skill Qualifications: Museum studies, library science
