Primary job responsibilities will be the delivery of sport-specific strength and conditioning
programs as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports. This role will work with more experienced coaches to design training programs for their assigned student-athletes, focused on reducing the risk of injury and enhancing strength, power, endurance, and movement quality. This will include the supervision of weight room open hours to gain experience working with a range of athletes and programs.

Successful incumbant must be competent in a range of strength, power and speed training movements
and their progression / prescription to achieve priorities within the periodized plan. The role will be responsible for delivering the plans set for their sportwi thin the periodized plan, and learn the process of planning training prescription as part of this process. Undertaking athlete monitoring as a key part of their coaching process in delivery best practice for performance-health management of Notre Dame’s student-athletes. The ability tocommunicate  and develop a working relationship with strength coaches, sport coaches andother me mbers of the performance department is a key part of this role. In addition, daily duties such as weight room cleaning and maintenance are expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and develop training programs for assigned student-athletes within a periodized
    plan for each sport they work with.
  • Be an active part of the Olympic Strength and Conditioning team.
  • Work collaboratively with other Sports Performance disciplines to provide holistic support
    to all student-athletes as part of assigned sports performance team(s).
  • Deliver “the Notre Dame way” for strength and conditioning.
  • Undertake professional development within the Olympic Strength and Conditioning
    department.
  • Maintain the Olympic Weight rooms to the required standard

This role averages 20 hours/week but could vary. Need someone for Fall & Spring Semester - (August 24, 2026 to April 30, 2027 with all student holidays off)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
  • Existing relevant certification from one of the following: CSCCa; NSCA, USAW, and pursuing CPR –First Aid certification required
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm
  • A desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach

Additional Information

Rate of pay: This role pays $23.00/ hour averaging 20 hours per week, but may vary.
