Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Safety Companion to join our healthcare team in Easton, United States. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients by providing constant observation and support.
- Maintain a vigilant watch over assigned patients to prevent falls, self-harm, or other safety risks
- Assist patients with basic needs while maintaining their dignity and comfort
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff about patient behavior, mood changes, or concerns
- Engage patients in appropriate activities to promote a positive environment
- Document patient observations accurately and in a timely manner
- Respond promptly to patient calls or requests for assistance
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers as directed by nursing staff
- Participate in regular training sessions to enhance patient safety skills
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Excellent observation and reporting skills
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient safety protocols
- Proficiency in time management and multitasking
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient mobility for extended periods
- Previous experience in healthcare or caregiving (preferred)
- Empathetic and patient-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
