Job Description
Under direct clinical supervision of the on-site provider, assists in the delivery of patient care. Performs delegated medical tasks, assists providers and nursing staff with patient care and may perform clerical duties. Will utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) for documentation purposes. Fulfillment of job duties requires access to medication storage areas and to transport medications to/ from medication storage and delivery areas. Under direct supervision of the manager or designee, fully participates in the daily operations and patient flow, and acts as a resource for Medical Assistant I and Medical Assistant II. Model teamwork, leadership by collaboration, communication, accountability, customer service, and mastery of clinical skills.
Qualifications
Education & Experience - Required
1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
a. Special circumstances to consider an exception may include: (1 year of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field within the last 3 years). These should be vetted by Human Resources Director and Department Director.
3.Current National certification through AAMA, NHA, AAH or AMT.
a. Certification Includes:
i. Certified Medical Assistant
ii. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
iii. Registered Medical Assistant
4.Three (3) years of medical assisting and medical practice experience.
5.Current BLS certification.
Experience Preferred-
Hospice or Palliative Medicine

About the Role:
This position supports both our outpatient clinic and inpatient program, ensuring seamless care for patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments. You’ll work closely with clinicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and register patients for clinic visits and inpatient consultations
- Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs
- Assist with ordering and maintaining medical and office supplies
- Provide outstanding customer service with empathy and professionalism
- Serve as a trusted resource for patients and families navigating care
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role, preferably in a specialty or multi-disciplinary setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
- Commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience
- Palliative or hospice experience preferred but not required
