Job Description

  1. Coordinate patient flow in the office setting on a daily basis.
  1. Greet, weigh and accompany patients to appropriate areas of the office.  Document as needed using appropriate and approved forms.
  1. Obtain vital signs; perform diagnostic studies (EKG, holter monitor, etc.), injections and venipuncture as needed. Document as needed.
  1. Obtain laboratory specimens per defined lab procedures and OSHA guidelines
  1. Assumes leadership role of team. Participates in  training of new team members as needed.
  1. Demonstrates ability to function effectively in clinical emergencies.
  1. Uses supplies and equipment in a cost effective manner.
  1. Process prescription refill via electronic, fax and telephone systems.
  1. Respond to patient phone calls per physician instructions.  Demonstrates skill in providing clinical advice to patients in accordance with medical guidelines.
  1. Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, orderly and operational condition.
  1. Assists office coordinator with hiring and training of new clinical employees.  Coordinates and performs annual appraisals for clinical employees. 
  1. Assists with the overall functioning of the office to assure efficient operations. 
  1. Assists with daily supervision of office staff.  Coordinates staff schedules and provides coverage for absences.
  1. Assist in other areas of the practice as assigned by the management of UM UCH.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Currently licensed as an RN in the State of Maryland.  Certification in BCLS required.  Additional certification and training as determined by department per job task list.
