Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist to join our healthcare team in Baltimore. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated treatment plans and performing complex radiation dose calculations to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.

  • Create and optimize radiation treatment plans using advanced planning systems
  • Calculate radiation doses and verify treatment calculations for accuracy
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to determine optimal treatment approaches
  • Ensure quality assurance of treatment planning systems and processes
  • Participate in chart reviews and treatment planning conferences
  • Mentor junior dosimetrists and provide technical guidance
  • Maintain detailed documentation of treatment plans and calculations
  • Implement new treatment planning techniques and protocols
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy, or related field
  • Current Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in radiation oncology treatment planning
  • Proven expertise in 3D treatment planning and various radiation therapy techniques
  • Proficiency in treatment planning systems and radiation dose calculation software
  • Strong knowledge of radiation oncology protocols and cancer treatment methodologies
  • Extensive understanding of medical physics principles and radiation safety standards
  • Experience with quality assurance procedures and documentation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
