Job Description

General Summary

The Senior. UI/UX product designer will join a dynamic iHarbor Innovation Center team and will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) product design of our various software and digital (including mobile) assets. This role will ensure that all elements of the user experience incorporate exceptional visual and human-centered design optimized for improved usability and usefulness and ensure design team projects and our various technology assets adhere to established design standards and best practices. This role will demonstrate a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX product design problems by applying industry best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology. This role will report to the Manager, UI/UX Design.


Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Investigate user experience design requirements for our suite of software and digital technology assets.
  • Demonstrate a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX product design problems by applying industry best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, sales, and marketing, to craft user-centric workflows for diverse personas across healthcare.
  • Synthesize and socialize requirements across the team to use in creating overall product design strategy.
  • Provide design input toward UI/UX product design strategy and work to ensure its implementation across software and technology products and solutions.
  • Design delightful solutions that elevate the end-user experience, ensuring consistency across iHarbor’s product portfolio.
  • Design UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our software and digital assets, and ensures all elements designed follow design standards to ensure a common and cohesive look and feel.
  • Serve as a producer for UI, in collaboration with product management and the software development to ensure positive communication and problem solving between disciplines.
  • Adopt experimental and data-driven approaches to inform  design decisions; transform ideas into tangible concepts, develop mocks, gather stakeholder feedback, and deliver high-level designs for implementation by our development teams.
  • Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how applications may function and be consumed.
  • Test UI elements such as Call to Action buttons, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
  • Collaborate with the technology and development teams, and internal and external stakeholders to create and deliver customized  experiences for application users.
  • Partner with data science and development teams to ensure seamless integration of designs that meet requirements and business goals.
  • Adhere to style standards on typography, graphic design, colors, and images.
  • Work with developers and engineers to brainstorm application ideas.
  • Collaborate with users to obtain user feedback and conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness).
  • Stay current with the latest UI/UX design trends and industry advancements to continually enhance our digital product performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Media Arts, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of UI/UX design experience for software and technology products or services.
  • Experience in improving business metrics through user centric product design.
  • Experience in mobile and web application design.
  • Portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for software applications, web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience designing dashboards that provide insights, intuitively visualize data, and aid decision support.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of various software and technologies (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Visio, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of various software and technologies relevant to machine learning, artificial intelligence, operations research, pattern mining, natural language processing, statistics, etc.
  • Advanced visual design acumen demonstrated through owning a product design end-to-end.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Lean methodologies.
  • Keen ability to understand context, audience, and usability of the product.
  • Advanced analytical, conceptual thinking, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes.
