Job Description
The Gift and Endowment Associate supports the Foundation in fulfilling its responsibility for ensuring private gifts received for the benefit of the University of Louisville and UofL Health are distributed and expended as required by the terms of the donor gift agreement. This position will support the activities of the gift, compliance and finance teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Gift Revenue
- Process checks received in the Foundation office through deposit-on-site.
- Assist gift team with researching and recording gifts in the donor database (Blackbaud CRM).
- Assist with reconciliation and posting of gift cash received to the general ledger (Microsoft GP).
- Provide backup support for production of tax receipts and pledge reminders.
Gift and Endowment Compliance, Accounting and Reporting
- Provide coordination assistance related to creation of new gift and endowment accounts.
- Assist with review of monthly funding requests from the University and UofL Health.
- Assist with comprehensive review of a subset of all gift and endowment accounts on a continuous basis.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of gift and endowment account documentation.
- Maintain logs of gift and endowment accounts reviewed, identified issues and resolution.
Additional Duties
- Manage workflow for creation of new gift agreements through gift documentation platform (Givzey) and assist with updating templates and available designations.
- Participate in updating and maintaining Foundation policies related to gifts and endowments.
- Cross-train with Compliance and Gift Processing staff to provide backup support as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
Two years or more of relevant experience in one of the following or closely related fields: gift or grant processing or administration, accounting, finance, data processing, non-profit, higher education or similar which includes use of electronic spreadsheets, databases and web-based financial tools. Experience with Blackbaud, Workday, Fundriver Balance, or Microsoft GP a plus.

Working conditions
The Gift and Compliance Associate is a 40-hour/week position in a typical office environment.
Physical requirements
