Position Summary
As a Research Analyst, you will provide research, knowledge transfer, and overall administrative support. Your strong research and management skills will enable you to contribute to project planning and research and knowledge translation activities. Relying on strong communication and relationship building skills, you will foster and sustain collaboration with existing and potential collaborators, faculty, staff, students, and other end-users of research. By supporting overall management of this program of research, you will play an essential role in addressing traumatic brain injury across the lifespan and continuum of healthcare.
Duties
- Contribute to research and knowledge translation activities
- Provide administrative support to Principal Investigator
- Assist in preparation of material for presentation, publication, grants, and other knowledge dissemination activities, e.g., through social media and lab website.
- Assist in the preparation of submissions to the Research Ethics Board.
- Coordinate meetings with research team members, trainees, and internal and external collaborators.
- Assist in the modification and maintenance of electronic and paper data management systems.
- Coordinate necessary data flow both internally, as well as externally with collaborators from other sites.
- May participate in quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of data collected from research participants.
- May liaise with sponsors for monitoring/audits
- May perform computer statistical analyses.
- May generate annual reports, status reports, and other statistical reports, as required.
- May interpret results and prepare material for presentation, publication and/or grants.
- May conduct literature searches.
Qualifications
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in health-related discipline required
- Minimum 1 year related experience
- Experience working in a research environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with scientists, clinicians, trainees, and community-based partners, in a fast pace environment
- Flexibility in adjusting to changing circumstances
- Demonstrated multi-tasking skills
- Ability to manage multifaceted, concurrent projects and tasks
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, problems solve, and exercise independent judgement based on sound principles and to take necessary action
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and in using reference management software (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Covidence) and social media platforms
- Experience in research (e.g., drafting manuscripts, research grant applications, and presentations), analyzing data quantitative or qualitative data, and/or conducting interviews and/or focus groups, is preferred
- Experience using statistical analysis and data management software applications an asset
- Previous experience with Research Ethics Board and research grant submissions an asset
- Previous experience supporting systematic, scoping, or other knowledge synthesis reviews an asset
