Position Summary

UHN is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead implementation of priority recommendations arising from a comprehensive external review of the Acute Resuscitation Program. This fixed-term role will provide dedicated project leadership and coordination to advance critical patient safety, quality improvement, governance, education, and operational initiatives across multiple clinical programs and sites.

Working closely with clinical, operational, quality, education, and executive stakeholders, the Project Manager - Acute Resuscitation will develop and maintain implementation plans, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, track deliverables, support governance activities, and prepare executive-level reporting. 

Duties:

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Implementation

  • Lead implementation of priority Acute Resuscitation Program recommendations across UHN.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive implementation roadmap and workplan.
  • Establish project governance processes, milestone tracking, risk management tools, decision logs, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
  • Monitor progress against timelines and proactively identify risks, barriers, and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare implementation updates, briefing materials, presentations, and status reports for leadership. 

Governance and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support refinement of governance structures, reporting processes, committee mandates, and accountability frameworks.
  • Coordinate meetings and activities of implementation committees, workgroups, and stakeholder forums.
  • Facilitate collaboration among leaders and subject matter experts from Critical Care, General Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Pharmacy, Nursing, Education, Information Technology, Decision Support, and Quality Improvement.
  • Develop communication strategies and stakeholder engagement plans to support implementation and change management activities.
  • Prepare discussion materials, action logs, decision summaries, and meeting documentation. 

Patient Safety, Quality Improvement and Event Review

  • Lead implementation of initiatives related to resuscitation equipment, medication, and operational safety.
  • Coordinate audits, assessments, gap analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate development and implementation of standardized event review, case review, and debriefing processes.
  • Support integration of quality improvement methodologies and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Track implementation of recommendations and ensure follow-up activities are completed and documented.

Data, Documentation and Reporting

  • Work with Decision Support, Information Technology, Epic, and operational stakeholders to improve resuscitation-related data and reporting capabilities.
  • Support development of performance dashboards, measurement frameworks, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting activities required to monitor implementation progress.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, implementation trackers, and performance reports.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve data accessibility and quality. 

Project Reporting and Sustainability Planning

  • Prepare executive-level reports summarizing implementation progress, risks, issues, and achievements.
  • Support development of future-state operating models, implementation roadmaps, and sustainability plans.
  • Document lessons learned and support transition planning for ongoing oversight following project completion.
  • Contribute to development of recommendations regarding future program infrastructure, governance, and funding requirements. 

Qualifications

  • Relevant education such as degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Quality Improvement, Health Sciences, Nursing, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in healthcare or complex organizational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Experience supporting healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, clinical operations, or program implementation initiatives.
  • Experience working with governance structures, committees, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing project charters, workplans, dashboards, reports, presentations, and implementation strategies.
  • Experience in acute resuscitation, critical care, emergency response, or quality improvement environments considered an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong project management, planning, organization, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, change management principles, and healthcare governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and project management tools.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across clinical, operational, administrative, and executive stakeholder groups.
