Position Summary 

This research position is based in the Department of Supportive Care – Division of Psychosocial Oncology (PSO) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, a leading academic cancer hospital within the University Health Network (UHN). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in health psychology and vaccine decision-making.

Under the supervision of Dr. Shapiro, the Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to a large, mixed methods longitudinal study examining modifiable drivers of HPV vaccination to inform the prevention of HPV-associated cancers in Canada. The primary initial focus will be on baseline qualitative data collection and analysis.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills to contribute to impactful, policy-oriented research. The role requires on-site presence three days per week.

Duties

  • Conducting qualitative interviews with study participants
  • Lead data analysis and interpretation
  • Conduct literature reviews to support study aims
  • Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
  • Develop and deliver conference presentations
  • Support study coordination and administrative tasks
  • Contribute to additional research activities as required

Qualifications

  • PhD in a health- or social science-related discipline is required (completed within the previous 5 years).
  • Minimum of 6 months research project coordination and data management
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative research methods and analysis
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset
