Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary
The Ajmera Transplant Centre of the University Health Network (Toronto General Hospital) has an opening for a Research Analyst II within the Liver Transplant Group. As the successful candidate, you will have an important role in a large clinical and research-based program that strives to be the world leader in transplantation medicine/surgery. You will work with a team of clinicians and clinician-scientists.
Working under supervision of senior staff, the Research Analyst II exercises moderate judgment and decision-making in utilizing established policies and procedures to determine work methods and resolve problems. This may include: conducting literature searches/reviews for new proposals as directed; coordinating necessary data flow both internally as well as externally with collaborators from other sites; maintaining regulatory documents; participating in department review of data collection strategies; generating response curves, status reports and other statistical reports as required; assisting in the preparation of submissions to the Research Ethics Board; function as a resource in planning, implementing and evaluating a full range of programs and services that support education research and scholarly activities and performing other duties consistent with job classification, as requested.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage clinical and research data collection activities within the Liver Transplant program
- Conduct literature searches and reviews to support research proposals, manuscripts, and ongoing projects
- Develop, maintain, and organize research databases, datasets, and regulatory documentation
- Liaise with internal teams, external collaborators, and institutional departments regarding data flow and project coordination
- Assist with Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, amendments, and study documentation
- Participate in the review and implementation of data collection strategies and quality assurance processes
- Generate statistical summaries, reports, response curves, and other research-related outputs as required
- Support education, research, and scholarly activities within the Ajmera Transplant Centre and perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Science required
- At minimum, three (3) years related experience
- Experience using statistical analysis and data management software applications required
- Ability to apply a range of fundamental research principals, theories, concepts and techniques relating to data collection and management
- Demonstrates excellent competency in written and verbal communications
- Highly developed computer and Internet skills; R and SQL considered an asset. RedCap or data management software experience highly valued.
- May assist in the preparation of submissions to the Research Ethics Board
- Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines preferred (such as ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki, PHIPA)
- Experience developing, and working according to, SOPs
- Ability to manage competing demands of short and long-term projects, independently coordinating and prioritizing relevant projects, tasks and responsibilities
- Detail oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
