Wage Range: $63.05-$75.27 per hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement)

Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Brain Metastases and Gamma Knife clinical program will function in an advanced nursing role, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill in managing care for patients with brain metastases. This role will combine clinical, educational, and leadership responsibilities to optimize patient care, ensure access to supportive services, and lead multidisciplinary care initiatives.
Duties
- Act as a clinical expert and central resource for patients, families, and referring institutions, for coordination of care and offering support and counselling as needed
- Will be a liaison between site specialties and the Brain Mets and Gamma Knife team to ensure seamless care to patients and their families and other healthcare providers
- Be involved in the triage and assignment of patients to appropriate clinical assessment and review.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Brain Metastases and Gamma Knife multidisciplinary rounds to formulate, evaluate and implement care plans
- Facilitate patient access to specialized treatments and enrollment in clinical trials and relevant programs
- Lead patient-centered initiatives, including the development and maintenance of patient and caregiver educational resources
- Engage in quality improvement projects and research activities, contributing to advancements in brain metastases care
- Other responsibilities will include academic and leadership activities, including delivering, coordinating and participating in research, education and professional development activities
Qualifications
- Completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing required
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class (NP - Adult or NP - Primary Health Care)
- Experience in oncology or brain tumor care preferred
- Expertise in acute oncology, palliative care, neuro-oncology, or rehabilitation nursing an asset.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and collaborative practice skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex clinical situations
- Experience in quality improvement and program development preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated sensitivity to patient and family needs
- Proficiency in information technology and virtual care platforms
- Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology) preferred
