Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Monday - Friday

Position Summary:
The Radiation Medicine Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is one of the world’s leading centers in radiation oncology, integrating cutting-edge technology, clinical trials, and translational research to improve cancer outcomes.

We are seeking a highly motivated medical student to join Dr. Kathy Han’s research team for Summer 2026. This role is best suited for students with a strong academic track record and a serious interest in oncology, academic medicine, or competitive residency programs.

The selected student will work closely with a staff radiation oncologist and fellow, contributing directly to active clinical research projects in gynecologic cancer, with the opportunity for manuscript development and publication.

Duties:

  • Contribute to ongoing research projects in gynecological (and/or breast) cancer, including literature reviews, data collection, data analysis and manuscript writing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care initiatives, clinical trials, and radiation therapy improvements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials related to research findings, ensuring high-quality documentation.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of research projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older, per UHN policy
  • Your appointment runs between May 2026– August 31, 2026
  • Current medical student OR final-year undergraduate student (e.g., Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences etc.) with confirmed admission to medical school
  • Demonstrated academic excellence and strong work ethic
  • Strong interest in oncology, clinical research or academic medicine.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Prior research experience is an asset but not required.
  • Previous experience with EPIC is an asset but not required.
