Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range: $33.80 - $42.25 per hour
Status: Temporary Full-Time (one year contract with possibility of extension)

Position Summary
This clinical research position is within the Living Donor Liver Transplant Research Program at the Ajmera Transplant Center, Toronto General Hospital, UHN.

Our portfolio includes epidemiological, translational and clinical research led by a multidisciplinary group of clinician investigators. Our high volume and world renowned program on living donor liver transplantation (largest program in the Western Countries) make this an exciting position for research personnel with translational and clinical knowledge/interests and opportunity to develop additional research skills as well as academic publications. This position offers an exciting research opportunity for an extremely organized, highly motivated, detail-oriented and hard-working individual, who possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will enjoy the challenge of learning from and working with an interdisciplinary research team. 

Duties

  • Recruitment of study participants (e.g., identifying and screening potential subjects and obtaining informed consent)
  • Coordinating patient visit schedules as per study protocol
  • Execution of various aspects of the study visit (e.g., recording adverse events and concomitant medications, monitoring patient safety, administering questionnaires/ePROs, and performing vital signs assessments)
  • Supporting research projects being carried out by medical trainees, Fellows, and PIs
  • Preparing CTA submissions for Investigator-initiated trials
  • Preparing submissions for CAPCR
  • Corresponding with study stakeholders
  • Performing source documentation in UHN’s electronic medical record (Epic) and data collection according to UHN policy, ICH-GCP guidelines, and study protocol
  • Other responsibilities include planning, implementing, and coordinating data entry (e.g., in databases or case report forms) and study-related administrative tasks, such as creating and maintaining investigator study files, meeting facilitation, etc.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, a bachelor's degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline 
  • Postgraduate certificate in clinical research, is an asset 
  • Minimum one - two years of clinical and/or professional experience and minimum of one year clinical research experience 
  • At one (1) year experience in the review and preparation of Health Canada and Research Ethics Board submissions, including writing informed consent forms, preferred 
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (i.e. SOCRA, ACRP), preferred 
  • Familiarity with CAPCR, is an asset  
  • Familiarity navigating EPIC, is an asset 
  • Proficiency in basic medical terminology 
  • Demonstrated biospecimen management experience
  • Experience with patient contact and informed consent in a clinical setting 
  • Experience with REDCap, is an asset 
  • Knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines 
  • Experience with submissions to Health Canada Regional Health board 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a dynamic & fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks 
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies 
  • Able to operate effectively in an interdisciplinary team 
  • Strong Proficiency with MS Office software, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint
