Salary Range: $37.85 to $56.77 per hour or $73,808 to $110,700 annually

Position Summary
Dr. Okrainec is an internal medicine physician and scientist who conducts health services and implementation focused research to improve the care of patients transitioning in and out of hospital. Working onsite under her direction, you would oversee the quantitative evaluation of an integrated care clinical program bridging hospital to home, including other related initiatives, and the team of junior analysts and students. This position offers the opportunity to work with a highly interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with investigators, knowledge users from academic, government organizations and patient and caregiver partners across two provinces. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself into a fast-paced clinical and scientific environment and gain skills necessary for a future scientist career. Duties
- Lead the quantitative evaluation and its connected initiatives.
- Supervise and ensure high quality chart–level creation of patient data cohorts.
- Liaise with health services scientists, epidemiologists and analysts across multiple institutions.
- Interpret, synthesize, and disseminate findings through peer reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences and stakeholder meetings.
- Contribute to grant applications and research planning.
- Critical appraisal of relevant literature.
- Provide co-supervision and training/mentorship of more junior members and students in the lab.
- Work alongside the project manager to support coordination and reporting standards and milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Public Health, Nursing or related discipline with quantitative skills.
- Experience working with large, linked health administrative or registry datasets; familiarity with longitudinal data analysis and health services research, and independence with statistical software/analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex analyses.
- Proficiency in academic writing and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with costing and cost effectiveness analyses are an asset.
- Previous experience in clinical environment or with chart-level data is an asset.
- Previous experience in implementation science and health services is an asset.
