Salary Range: $45.85 - $57.31 per hour (Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy)
Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Position Summary
Providing a link between the Outpatient Oncology Clinics at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the Acute Oncology Clinics at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Acute Oncology Clinic Clinical Coordinator works with the health care teams to ensure effective management, planning and coordination of in the moment supportive and acute care for outpatient oncology patients.
Duties
- Management and coordination of all referrals for Acute Oncology Program; utilizing and applying current specialized knowledge and expertise in nursing practice and oncology supportive treatments to safely and effectively triage and direct patient care to the most appropriate resources in Acute Oncology Clinics;
- Consult with and engage appropriate staff members, physicians, policies and others to determine course of patient’s journey.
- Using bed flow measures to maximize capacity in Acute Oncology Clinics and prevent Emergency Department visits
- Coordinating and facilitating continuity in patient care management for next-day and/or continuous care in the Acute Oncology Clinics;
- Functioning as a quality care specialist for ongoing evaluation and maintenance of Acute Oncology Clinic capacity utilization and efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Master’s Degree preferred
- Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
- Up to 4 (Four) years current and relevant experience, including experience working in a triage nurse or a charge nurse position (e.g. experience working with malignant hematology patients)
- Certification in Oncology Nursing from C.N.A. preferred
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to teach one-on-one and/or groups
- Ability to function collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and/or independently
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Demonstrated awareness of and adherence to professional and ethical standards
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Computer literacy
- Emergency/Acute Care Triage/Charge RN experience preferred
- Membership with the RNAO preferred
