Salary Range: $47.70 - $71.54 per hour
Hours: 1-10 hours per week (will vary each week)
Shifts: Day
Status: Temporary Casual

Position Summary
This position will support the growth and coordination of a collaborative research team that includes multiple learners. While the team may appear to have many concurrent projects, the structure is intentionally learner-enabled rather than solely researcher-led. The Project Manager will play a key role in supporting learners across projects, facilitating coordination, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring that research activities progress effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Duties

  • Plans and develops all aspects of assigned projects in collaboration with the project leader to determine timelines, schedules and resource requirements (capital, operating and staffing)
  • Analyzes information system requirements and develops new or modified systems to meet project needs
  • Executes project plans by leading the implementation team, monitoring project tasks, and making recommendations to ensure desired outcomes while guiding all aspects of the project (e.g., quality, risk, communication, staffing)
  • Works with user groups to define requirements and specifications for solutions and evaluates performance, taking corrective action where required
  • Provides direct supervision including interviewing and hiring staff, allocating resources, and monitoring, assigning and coordinating staff workloads
  • Conducts performance management responsibilities including setting expectations, motivating staff to achieve objectives, completing staff reviews and providing ongoing coaching
  • Monitoring vacation, absenteeism, overtime and leaves of absence
  • Controls and monitors project budgets and expenditures to ensure costs do not exceed established limits
  • Performs administrative responsibilities including scheduling and participating in meetings, providing status reports, and liaising with appropriate parties
  • Participates in the strategic planning process and acts as a resource to others requiring knowledge and expertise while keeping abreast of new developments to advise the team on available options

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Master's degree in a related field or recognized equivalent 
  • At minimum, five (5) years project management experience is required
  • Proven experience working on at least three projects, having substantially different characteristics, required
  • Project planning, management and implementation experience, required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Demonstrated commitment to high quality work
  • Ability to use a team approach in solving problems
  • Can effectively manage multiple competing tasks and deadlines
