As Communications Lead, you report to the Project Change Lead and be closely integrated with the Communications and Brand Strategy department to develop and deliver communication strategies and tactics that align with organizational quality standards and best practices to drive awareness, understanding, and engagement, and ability across the organization.

Duties

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that enables and supports effective:
    • Communication between the project team and internal working groups
    • Broadcast communication for enterprise-wide awareness and engagement
    • Strategic communication with external parties (e.g. unions, trade media)
  • Work within the Communications and Brand Strategy framework to ensure all content aligns with enterprise goals, brand guidelines, and change management principles, including through use of templates
  • Identify the need for new temporary communication channels tailored to the project while leveraging existing enterprise channels and establish channel guidelines
  • Collaborate with the project’s Change Management Lead and Training Lead to support the overall change journey
  • Create and maintain branded templates and toolkits for the project team
  • Maintain central repository of project-related information and resources for TeamUHN (aka all staff)
  • Contribute to engagement tactics that help move stakeholders along the change curve
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor at the project team table
  • Support external communication related to the project
  • Support the delivery of communication tactics including emails, intranet content, videos, and presentations
  • Be a strong and effective ambassador of the project when interacting with stakeholders at all levels across the organization

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years work experience
  • 3-5 years experience in an internal communication and/or change communication role, ideally in a large, complex organization
  • 2-3 years experience providing communication support for a complex implementation project with considerable change impacts
  • Proven experience in strategic internal communications, preferably in large-scale technology implementations.
  • Strong understanding of ADKAR methodology and change management principles with demonstratable experience of executing using ADKAR and internal MarComm best practices
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Experience developing and managing multi-channel communication plans and monitoring their use
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong listening, advisory, and influencing skills
  • Creative problem-solver with a keen ability to identify root causes, adjusting messaging and delivery accordingly while also taking steps to prevent recurrence
  • Adept with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Co-Pilot
  • Health care experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with HR practices and language is an asset
