Department: Staffing/Admitting
Reports to: Nurse Manager
Salary Range: $28.76-30.08 
Hours: 0.5 FTE
Shifts: Days evening & alternate Weekends
Status: Permanent Part-Time 
Closing Date: February 18, 2026

Position Summary:

To ensure adequate nursing staffing centre-wide in accordance with predetermined staffing levels & patterns.

Duties:

  • Maintain/provide accurate staffing schedules and arrange for staff replacements following Staffing Guidelines/Parameters.
  • Generate/prepare reports.
  • Conduct payroll data entry.
  • Register all clients and referrals and ensure all information is collected and processed.
  • Support day-to-day admission functions.
  • Ensure PT movement across the centre is accurately recorded.
  • Be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors including:
  • Compliance with the safety standards of the hospital and applicable legislation
  • Identification and prevention of safety issues and problems
  • Taking corrective action, where possible
  • Attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the Centre’s standards
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of West Park:  Excellence, Respect, Trust, Collaboration and Accountability
  • Evidence of good performance history and attendance record

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite       
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a highly organized fashion
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Good mathematical aptitude
  • Evidence of satisfactory attendance and punctuality
  • Desired/Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of GRASP and ANSOS, admitting/transfer/discharge functions
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of ONA and SEIU collective agreements
  • Previous experience within a hospital environment is preferred
