Position Summary
As a valued member of the UHN Medical Imaging team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Interventional Radiology Program. You will provide leadership and direction to the interdisciplinary clinical team and collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain patient access and quality.

Duties

  • Responsible for the management, operation and organizational effectiveness of the IR team
  • Collaborate with IR physicians, nurse educator, and other team members - internal and external – to ensure optimal patient care
  • Manage all aspects of human resources – leading full-cycle recruitment and hiring, providing department orientation, monitoring team-level and individual-level performance
  • Communicate and disseminate relevant information to staff through regular team meetings, in-services and other appropriate communication media
  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to enhance daily operations
  • Support organizational strategies and initiatives, and collaborate with management team to develop and implement quality improvement strategies/processes which are in alignment with UHN patient care standards and which enhance the patient experience, operational effectiveness and program efficiency
  • Assist in the development of capital and operating budgets for the utilization of resources, including staff, equipment, supplies and space.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in regulated health profession or recognized equivalent
  • Membership in good standing with a Regulated Professional College (CMRITO or CNO)
  • 4 - 6 years practice and related experience within a Medical Imaging or Interventional Radiology department
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills, with a passion for leading teams
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
