Position Summary
UHN Data & Analytics supports UHN’s growing demand for data and data-driven insights, and helps TeamUHN ensure the needs of the patients come first. Our collective goal is to enable UHN in transformative, measurable and data-informed healthcare improvement.
Within UHN Data & Analytics, the Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics Team seeks to improve UHN’s understanding of its data as a competitive differentiator, and enable UHN to become a data-driven and insight-enabled learning health system that effectively manages and drives value from its data.
Reporting to the Director, Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics, the Manager, Data Literacy will lead UHN’s Data Literacy Program, owning the data literacy strategy and roadmap to advance TeamUHN’s data and analytics mindset, skillset, and toolset. The role will also oversee the provision of advanced analytics solutions for patient care and hospital operations, and learning opportunities in data and analytics for students.
The Manager, Data Literacy will:
- Serve as a key point of contact for organizational data literacy;
- Manage UHN’s data literacy program and roadmap;
- Manage the creation and delivery of UHN’s data literacy products and services;
- Build internal and external partnerships that advance UHN’s data literacy and analytics mandate;
- Identify new business and commercialization opportunities pertaining to data literacy;
- Oversee the Data & Analytics Student Program and provision of advanced analytics solutions; and
- Manage recruitment and performance of talent (staff, students and volunteers).
There is occasional travel associated with this position between UHN hospital sites in the downtown Toronto core.

Qualifications
- An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of project and people management experience required
- Strong communication, talent management and leadership skills
- Project and Change Management certification required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).
- A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Health Science, Healthcare Administration or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience considered an asset
- Experience working in a complex, public sector organization or healthcare institution considered an asset
- Skilled in strategy and roadmap development, prioritization, budgeting, and reporting;
- Able to break down complex problems into manageable deliverables;
- Able to perform root-cause analysis and make sound and timely decisions to resolve problems; and
- Possess an understanding of, and experience in, large-scale project and change management.
