Department: Multisystem Rehabilitation Unit (8S)
Reports to: Manager, Allied Health
Work Model: On-Site
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Weekdays and Some Weekends
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: October 28, 2025

Duties

  • Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive individual programs for patients, within the context of an inter-professional practice model
  • Use theoretical and empirical knowledge and the input of team members to plan and implement care for patients and their families
  • Provide occupational performance assessment, recommendations to patients, families, caregivers and team to optimize occupational performance
  • Collaborate with team members in an inter-professional environment providing patient-focused care and comprehensive discharge planning
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, external agencies, vendors, and the community
  • Participate in the clinical education of occupational therapy students
  • Support the development and implementation of best practice models of occupational therapy
  • Participate in Allied Health meetings and quality initiatives
  • Provide evidence-based and patient-centered practice to patients seen

Qualifications

  • Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
  • Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists’ membership, preferred
  • Previous experience in a Rehab Hospital environment, preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
  • Must be physically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care and occupational therapy treatment
  • Experience in assessment and treatment of MSK, oncology, and transplant patients preferred
  • Demonstrated appropriate and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy, experience with Epic and Microsoft Office preferred
