Position Summary

Duties

  • Acts as an educational consultant for EDO, providing educational needs assessment and analysis through collaboration with EDO team members, community partners and other health care workers
  • Systematically collects information and facilitates the identification and evaluation of educational needs to determine the level of the learner.
  • Develops educational strategies based on needs assessment/information gathered, incorporating adult learning principles and multiple methodologies according to the assessed needs.
  • Develops educational programs/activities, including in-service educational sessions.
  • Researches, identifies and prepares relevant educational resource materials using a variety of different media, including presentations/lectures, etc.
  • Delivers internal and external educational programs/activities utilizing formal/informal teaching methods, including seminars/workshops; providing education/training on EDO program interventions
  • Participate in the formulation of criteria and methods for program/activity evaluation; evaluates and revises educational programs, teaching/resource materials and teaching aids, as needed.
  • Encourages, promotes and facilitates continuous learning activities for self and other members of the EDO team to upgrade knowledge/skills to ensure constant improvement in program.

Qualifications

  • At a minimum, a degree in human nutrition and dietetics, or recognized equivalent required.
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario required
  • Experience in Eating Disorders teaching, program planning, development and evaluation preferred.
  • Experience in the development of Eating Disorders based educational materials for community based organizations and other health care worker preferred.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and to deal with changes in tasks with short notice
  • Demonstrated teaching ability, and leadership skills to facilitate meetings and interactive presentations
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making and conflict resolution skill
  • Bilingual English and French preferred
