Wage Range: $39.07 - 56.00 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement) 
Hours: 37.5 hr/week
Shifts: 8H and 10H shifts; Mon-Sat and Holidays
Status: Permanent Full Time 
Closing Date: October 2, 2025

Position Summary

As a member of the Malignant Hematology Day Unit (MHDU) interprofessional team, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized outpatient oncology and malignant hematology care. The MHDU supports patients receiving complex therapies such as chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusions, stem cell support, and supportive care treatments. Nurses practice within the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and uphold the mission, vision, and values of UHN Nursing.

Duties

The RN is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care, coordinating with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-volume ambulatory environment.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Completed Chemotherapy course
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) and C.P.R. certification
  • Malignant Hematology experience preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Oncology nurse certification preferred
  • Excellent IV skills
  • Working knowledge of Central Venous Catheters, Port-a-cath and PICC lines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Evidence of co-operative and facilitative relationships while working with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to work independently
  • Evidence of good physical assessment, psycho-social, and patient/family teaching skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care
  • Demonstrated leadership/in-charge skills, and evidence of strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Evidence of commitment to self-directed learning
  • Satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's Attendance Management Program
  • Experience working with delivery of blood and blood products preferred
