Position Summary
We are looking for a Research Analyst II with an interest in conducting applied research, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology and education.
Our mission at Digital Compassion Lab is to change healthcare delivery for all by designing and evaluating thoughtful digital technologies that are compassionate and empower people. We work tirelessly with local and international minds from multidisciplinary areas like education, design, technology, informatics, and health fields to transform health systems around the globe.
Embedded within Toronto General Hospital, we are a part of one of the largest medical research centres in North America and have unparalleled access to insights from those who use our healthcare system the most - patients and their clinicians. Due to this unique positioning and our vast skill set, our work is making an impact right now in the areas of adoption of artificial intelligence, knowledge management approaches to promote continuing professional development, and compassionate care delivery when using digital technologies.
Duties
As an integral member of the Digital Compassion Lab, you would provide research support across numerous, ongoing studies. Your core responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
- Project reporting, including tracking as well as communicating study status and risks
- Conducting literature reviews and needs assessments
- Preparing research ethics board documentation and amendments
- Recruiting and consenting study participants to join research projects and supporting them through the study
- Supporting data collection activities, including interviewing and facilitating focus groups
- Conducting qualitative analyses, both inductive and deductive approaches
- Building and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing knowledge translation products, including conference presentations and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
Qualifications
- At minimum, a Bachelors Degree, preferably a Masters Degree in a health-related field (e.g., health sciences, public health, health informatics, psychology, health education, nursing, occupational therapy)
- At minimum, 3 years of related experience in a research environment, preferably as an integral part of a research team in an analyst or coordinator capacity
- Familiarity with qualitative research methodology and analysis, including software use e.g., NVivo
- Proven ability to be resourceful, learn quickly, change directions, and navigate complex decision making in a fast-pace environment
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, focused on building relationships, and working in a collaborative environment with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, including strong presentations skills and attention to detail
- Experience supporting health research projects from initial grant application through to manuscript preparation for publication is preferred
- Familiarity with theories of digital health evaluation, IDEAA (inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility and anti-racism), and co-design is an asset
