Shifts: Monday-Friday; 7.5 hours per day
Salary: $76,655 - $95,823 per annum (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

As a member of the Altum Finance team, Finance Business Manager, the Financial Analyst III performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities for the Social Medicine, UHN @ Home and IPP Programs. and will have the following responsibilities: working with senior finance management in the evaluation of assigned business cases; assisting with the preparation of the annual operating budget for assigned business area; preparing monthly and quarterly packages for senior management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process; supporting client groups; performing cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required. 

DUTIES:

  • Review and prepare annual operating budget and periodic forecasts
  • Work with business area managers and directors to prepare a preliminary assessment of risks & opportunities in business portfolio 
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis, draft commentary to emphasis key areas of opportunities and risks to manage tight financial constraints to various levels of leadership 
  • Streamline, develop, and coordinate processes 
  • Improve and develop chargebacks process 
  • Supervise billings to internal and external customers 
  • Perform month-end close including preparing and posting journal entries 
  • Perform Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation 
  • Primary finance lead for annual reconciliation process for the T&I Provincial Consolidation submissions to Ministry of Health and Long-term Care 
  • Identify accounting issues, process issues and make solid recommendation 
  • Perform cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested, including providing back-up support for other financial analysts.  
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification such as business analysis and cash modeling, as require 

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent program
  • 1-3 years’ experience in large complex accounting or auditing environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles, practices and procedures required
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA), either completed or in final stages, OR relevant combination of education and experience
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Experience with activity, workflow and organizational analysis for business/process re-engineering or efficiency improvements
  • Advanced level Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP S4HANA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
