Salary: $39.09 - $51.77 per hour

  • Premiums: Competitive MRI market premium and academic premiums available

Shifts: Variable 24/7 and On-Call (Casual Shifts: Must be available for all shifts. Day, Evening, and Night shifts including on Weekends and Stat Holidays)

Duties

  • Performs Magnetic Resonance imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals
  • Ensures MRI Safety Standards of practice are followed at all times
  • Operates, troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment
  • Prepares written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
  • Performs other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Attends meetings as necessary and is responsible for teaching, training, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Observes and understands Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and contributes to imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality
  • Adheres to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Performs cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including call, evening, weekend, or night shifts
  • There is a potential for overtime shift opportunities

Qualifications

  • Certification by the CAMRT, with a current membership, preferred
  • Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • Completion of both Cross-sectional Anatomy and Contrast Injection courses
  • Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education as assessed by CAMRT and CMRITO
  • One (1) or more years of recent clinical MRI experience, preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation
  • Demonstrated strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
  • Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
  • Ability to evaluate your quality of work and use constructive feedback to inform reflective practice
  • Ability to learn new skills, and adapt to process changes
  • Commitment to continuing education
  • Demonstrated good work performance and attendance history
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills and image quality
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of MRI Safety Principles
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities
