Salary: $64,974-$81,218 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent, Full-Time

The Research Financial Services (RFS) department provides post-award financial management of federal, provincial, international and private contracts and grants related to research for five different Research Institutes at University Health Network.

As an integral member of the Grants Management team within the RFS department, this Financial Analyst II works closely on a daily basis with the finance team of Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Duties

  • Work closely with the Princess Margaret Cancer Center and other stakeholders and able to answer their questions related to fund activity.
  • Process Research payroll, including maintaining log of amendments and new hires and handling payroll related inquiries from Fund Holders
  • Process invoices, employee hire forms (2552s), and digital equipment requests
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare Quarterly General ledger and year-end confirmations to UHN for reconciliation
  • Prepare/maintain SAR Payment schedule to PMCF AP
  • Perform cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Qualifications

 

  • University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Three - Five years (3-5) related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and satisfaction
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong organization and time management skills
  • Skill in accurately performing detailed numerical computations in a timely manner using large amounts of financial and/or statistical data
  • Sound professional judgment, initiative, and the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of computer application accounting systems & software applications, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e., Excel, Word, Access)
