Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and supportive Student Services Advisor to join our team in a Remote role. Required hours are between 8:00am - 6:00pm PST. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey, ensuring their success and well-being.
- Offer personalized academic advising to students, helping them navigate course selection, degree requirements, and career planning
- Provide empathetic support and resources for students facing academic, personal, or financial challenges
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement student success initiatives
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with FERPA regulations
- Organize and conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and informational meetings for students
- Assist with the development and implementation of retention strategies
- Serve as a liaison between students and various university departments to resolve issues efficiently
- Stay up-to-date with academic policies, procedures, and program requirements to provide accurate information to students
- Participate in campus events and activities to promote student engagement and success
Pay Range: $24 - $27 an hour depending on Student Services Exp within For Profit Education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in student services, academic advising, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse student populations
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach to student support
- Proficiency in student management systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in academic advising
- Familiarity with academic policies, procedures, and FERPA regulations
- Empathetic and supportive attitude towards students' needs and concerns
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work occasional evening or weekend hours as needed
