Job Description

We are looking for an Assignment Remote Theory Nursing Assistant Training Instructor to join our team.

This is a REMOTE teaching position that will be the primary instructor for the first 3 weeks of each 6 week cohort. You will work with the clinical instructor and program director. California License is required. 

This will be synchronous from 5pm-10pm PST
 Monday through Thursday the first 3 weeks of each cohort - with additional grading, discussion posting, student support, etc

This Instructor is responsible for online theory instruction of students enrolled in the NATP (Nursing Assistant Training Program).

  • Teaches theory content through both a synchronous and asynchronous module
  • Instructor will be responsible for daily interaction with students via DQ’s, discussion board, assignment feedback through our LMS, email and phone as needed
  • Ensure students are practice ready and meeting all state regulations for certification prior to end of program
  • Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
  • Continually seek out educational opportunities for students in the clinical setting that will enhance their learning experience
  • Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements
  • Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving curriculum and course objectives
  • Provide daily feedback to students in real time
  • Provide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling office hour, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods
  • Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and assist with program data collection, and skills check lists as required by state regulations
  • Participate in schedule meetings with theory instructor and program director regarding student progress
  • Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
  • Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
  • Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
  • Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements
  • Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college update
  • Submit required program reports and forms to Program Director in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure at least 2 years of nursing experience
  • Licensed in the state that the online campus is located
  • Experience which demonstrates:  Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in the classroom settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed
  • Successful completion of State Board training (if required)
