Job Description

We are looking for a Medical Assisting Instructor to join our team.

This position will provide fully prepared current instruction that meets desired learning outcomes, academic advising and career related counseling to students, actively engage in retention activities, and provide support for program and institutional initiatives.

Monday-9:30a-3:30p (prep time and q&a/tutoring built-in)

Tuesday -7:30a-1:30p (prep time and q&a/tutoring built-in) 

Wednesday -9:30a-3:30p (prep time and q&a/tutoring built-in)

Thursday -7:30a-1:30p (prep time and q&a/tutoring built-in) 

Friday - 9:30a-3:30p (prep time and q&a/tutoring built-in)

This position is for a Lab Instructor on campus, hands on instruction. 

A total of 30 hours a week. This position may be eligible for partial benefits

Responsibilities: 

  • Teach courses as assigned 
  • Demonstrate skill and knowledge in teaching discipline
  • Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different techniques in teaching
  • Demonstrate or be willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content during interactive teaching and learning
  • Aid with the planning, development and maintenance of program curriculum
  • Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving curriculum and course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress
  • Review and revise student learning material on an ongoing basis to maintain current information
  • Submit required program reports and forms to the Program Director in a timely manner
  • Maintain student records of attendance; skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection
  • Work with the Program Director to resolve student concern
  • Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with students
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Manage special projects assigned by the Program Director including but not limited to extracurricular activities to create enthusiasm and encouragement to students
  • Teach courses at a variety of times and locations as the need arise
  • Attend and participate in professional development; maintain documented continuing medical education
  • Maintain professional relationship with colleagues, students and the community
  • Adhere to and publicly support Unitek College policies and procedures
  • Coordinating and balancing the needs of a diverse student population and faculty, while simultaneously supervising and managing the multiple science materials and inventory.
  • Ability to adapt, direct and multi-task. Demonstrates exemplary skills and organizational proficiency

Pay Range:  $25-30/hr

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or college degree preferred but will consider candidates with equivalent experience
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program
  • Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, NRCMA) preferred

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Three demonstrable (3) years of hands-on clinical experience in the medical assistant role
  • Current knowledge of Medical Assistant practice
  • Ability to mentor a highly diverse student population
  • Ability to work independently
  • Documented expertise in academic subject area
  • Proficient in interpersonal oral presentation; excellent communication skills
