Job Description

We are looking for a Graduate/Assistant Building Services Engineer to join us on our mission to revolutionise the heat pump sector and accelerate the net zero transition. This role can be based out of our Leeds City Centre office, or at our cutting-edge training facility in Hawes in the scenic Yorkshire Dales National Park.

This role will work directly with our Head of Technical at Heatly, to ensure our market leading and optimised system designs are implemented across our platform. Taking a role in the designing, studying and analysing of mechanical systems and component layouts to ensure the most accurate designs possible are implemented across our digital solution.

This is an exciting time to join Heatly and you will be directly involved in project planning and implementing new methodologies to improve and validate designs and conducting simulations and side by side tests to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of our digital solution you will help shape the future of heat pump installations in the UK.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensuring that accurate schematics and layouts are created based on manufacturer's data.
  • Conducting side by side testing of the Heatly platform ensuring accuracy across all aspects of the mechanical designs.
  • Working closely with the Head of Technical to develop and implement optimised solutions to complex scenarios.
  • Ensuring that manufacturers data sets are accurate and up to date.
  • Taking part in and providing feedback in the software team development sessions identifying technical and workflow improvements.
  • Working closely with Senior Technical Support Specialists and other team members to learn about the company’s products and services and helping to resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Participating in training sessions to build technical knowledge and skills.
  • Staying updated on new product features and updates to provide accurate and current support.
  • Sharing insights on recurring technical issues and feedback from customers with product development teams.
  • Identifying common issues and suggesting improvements to support processes and tools.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge bases and support documentation.

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Services Engineering focused on Mechanical Engineering
  • A-Level Maths or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of IT systems, software applications, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A keen interest in solving technical problems and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to work well within a team and seek guidance when needed.

Desirable

  • Experience in Building Services
  • Familiarity with hydraulic heating system design at domestic or small commercial scale.
  • Experience with software design, although full training could be given.
